VRS F.A.Q.
VRS - Frequently Asked Questions
The Granular Insights VRS Service calculates a variable rate seeding prescription (VRS Rx) for products placed across each crop zone in the entire operation that has a product placed and a designated yield target. In this Article we will answer some Frequently Asked Questions.
How do I Transfer Seed Prescriptions to My Monitor?
Variable Rate Seeding (VRS) prescriptions generated in VRS can be exported from the web site and imported into a variety of monitors.
How do I Unzip a Prescription File?
Users can download prescription files from Granular Insights either directly from VRS or email. Prescription files downloaded from Granular Insights are zipped. Zipped files are compressed to make them smaller, which makes them easier to download and share. These files need to be extracted so that they are in the correct format when they are saved to a USB or card before they are uploaded to the monitor.
How do Yield Goals, and GYI/NCCPI figure into VRS?
The system assigns Yield Goals by crop zone. Individual Decision Zones are assigned Yield Targets based on the productivity index from either the National Yield Index or the Grower Yield Index (If FieldOp Data is uploaded and linked).
Why are all my VRS RX's the same for all my products?
Pioneer products come with default values for grain price, yield ranges, and recommended seeding rates that are used by VRS to make prescriptions. These settings are visible after selecting GetRx in VRS. The Planting Rate Inputs tool in VRS customizes these global settings so that they do not need to be edited individually for each field. These changes are account-specific.
